Yesterday during a Square-Enix press conference, Dragon Quest X was officially announced for both the Wii and Wii U consoles. It will be an online RPG in which gamers can create a party and exist in an online world. A lot of the online details are currently unavailable, but it is known that the game will be pay-to-play in Japan, and that some of the game can be completed offline. A last online detail tells us that gamers playing the Wii version will exist in the Wii U world and vice versa.
It is being developed internally by Square-Enix and will see release sometime in 2012. There will also be some Nintendo 3DS connectivity such as transferring your party characters to others during StreetPass encounters.
